Milestones, Growth, and Educational Values
The years 1999 and 2000 represent a significant turning point in the advancement of education emphasizing human values in the Philippines. This era marked the foundation and growth of the first Sathya Sai School in the country, a pioneering institution dedicated to holistic development.
The journey began in 1999 when a modest day-care facility in Barangay Halayhayin, Pililla, Rizal Province was chosen as the site for what would become the first Sathya Sai School in the Philippines (SSSPI). The initiative was endorsed by Dr. Art-Ong Jumsai from Thailand, who visited the Barangay on 3 October 1999 and played a pivotal role in facilitating the school's establishment. Dr. Jumsai not only endorsed the project but also contributed by conducting several training seminars and workshops within the country.
Laying the groundwork for the transformation of the day-care centre into a full-fledged school began on 23 October 1999. This transition was rooted in a dedication to nurture a new generation of learners grounded in human values.
From a small daycare in 1999 to a respected elementary school, the First Sathya Sai School in the Philippines stands as a testament to the transformative power of education rooted in human values. Its sustained emphasis on holistic growth, limited class sizes, and community engagement continues to leave a lasting mark on students, families, and the broader community.
From its humble beginnings, SSSPI steadily developed into a comprehensive elementary school, eventually offering classes from Kindergarten through Grade 6. The school’s growth strategy was gradual and student-centered: each year, a new grade was introduced to accommodate students advancing from the previous year.
The curriculum at SSSPI is dedicated to fostering the complete development of every child, encompassing the body, mind, and spirit. The educational approach is not restricted to academic achievement alone; rather, it places strong emphasis on nurturing Human Excellence. The school is committed to the holistic development of each student, encompassing physical, intellectual, spiritual, and psychological growth.
Educare is so beautiful, that it has ―Education and ―Care- how appropriate! The Bible says; "Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do unto me." Sathya Sai Baba says "Love All, Serve All" These statements bind us together as true brothers & sisters regardless of race, religion or caste.
Teaching is a complex profession, but it does not require an enormous amount of time to succeed. A loving heart, a helping hand, a determined and open mind is enough to transform people into a better person with CHARACTER. Bring out the best from within and love what you are doing.
Through well-rounded education, to promote local and global awareness of the Five Fundamental Human Values of “LOVE, TRUTH, PEACE, RIGHT CONDUCT, and NON-VIOLENCE”
To promote character building in society for “End of Education is Character” to provide “Education for Life not Just for Earning a Living”
398 students have graduated from kindergarten.
292 students have completed their education at the elementary school level.
Love, Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, and Non-Violence—these values are universal. They have been spoken of across nations and cultures, throughout history and time. The same holds true here in the Philippines, in the province of Rizal, in the humble town of Pililla, and within the heart of Barangay Halayhayin.
Beyond the standard curriculum, SSSPI enriches student experiences with special programs, particularly for older classes. These include lessons and activities on environmental awareness (such as care for the environment and the importance of recycling and reusing), personal health and hygiene, and the value of selfless service.
Community volunteers and corporate well-wishers actively participate in school life, sharing their expertise and engaging with students. The management also organizes service programs—such as free medical, optical, and dental check-ups—that benefit both students and the local community. These programs have historically been held twice each year, reinforcing a culture of service and compassion.
